The Leader in Me process aims to create a common language within a school, built on the principle-based leadership skills found in Dr. Stephen R. Covey’s best-selling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
The seven habits, in case you've forgotten are:
Habit 1: Be Proactive® • You're in Charge
Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind® • Have a Plan
Habit 3: Put First Things First® • Work First, Then Play
Habit 4: Think Win-Win® • Everyone Can Win
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood® • Listen Before You Talk
Habit 6: Synergize® • Together Is Better
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw® • Balance Feels Best
Research based on the Stephen Covey book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, lists seven principles that. if adopted as habits, can help you become truly effective at what you do. The research suggests that these are the seven for those of us facing the classroom. These are the things that characterise really great teachers:
- they build confidence;
- they are not afraid to make difficult decisions;
- they develop others;
- they are good communicators;
- they are non-conformists;
- they thrive in the company of others;
- they see the bigger picture.
