I visited Stocksbridge High School this afternoon.
Stocksbridge High School is a successful, 11-16 comprehensive school, with specialist status in Maths and Computing, on the northern edge of Sheffield. The school moved into its fantastic new 'Building Schools for the Future' building this term. I was there to talk to Peter Cole, Headteacher, and Claire Jackson, Assistant Headteacher, Learning and Curriculum, about the Cutlers Education Project and how the work we are doing to co-create a new competencies and curriculum framework supported by a learning and skills passport could connect with the work this is doing. It was great to meet Peter and Claire who are clearly passionate about making school life challenging and enjoyable and providing opportunities and pathways for learning and success for all their students. It is always encouraging
to visit a successful school where the senior team are looking for ways to refine and
develop their practice, drive further improvement and importantly take the
school on the journey from 'good to great'.
