Some important research over the past decade has focused on creativity, productivity, work and the psychology of happiness.
Whether the research looked at small companies starting up or large, established enterprises, the same thing appears to be true: people are more productive and more creative when they are more positive, more passionate and happier. In fact, research has discovered that, if people are really enjoying and engaged with what they are doing on a given day, they were not only more likely to come up with a great idea or solve a problem but also the effect seems to continue so that they were more creative and productive the next day as well. I know it isn't a surprise to anyone who has been part of the Education Leeds experiment but it's nice to have the research to back it up!
