I was at Canon Lee Specialist Arts College in York last night for my first meeting as a governor!
After the extraordinary meeting where the governors appointed Tricia Miller, chair of governors at York High School, as their new chair we had a meeting of the Quality of Teaching and Pupil Learning Committee. It was really interesting as a new governor to hear from Nicola Crawford, Assistant Headteacher, who gave the governors an update on teaching and learning and Simon Stancliffe, Assistant Headteacher, who gave the governors an update on behaviour and attendance. It was great to hear about the work these two talented colleagues are doing with their colleagues to drive these two vitally important aspects of the work at Canon Lee. Exciting times!
