The national and international research very clearly identifies that we need to re-engineer and re-imagine the curriculum in schools to meet the needs of the changing world and interestingly this is what authorities across the world are doing. Our children will need to be increasingly adaptable, creative, innovative and aware of their own strengths and weaknesses and importantly must be given opportunities to develop character, self-discipline and grit. Research shows very clearly that developing personal characteristics like hard work, persistence, perseverance, determination and teamwork leads to school and career success. We must develop a curriculum framework where we coach, nurture and place these things at the heart of everything we are doing with our children and young people. To build a brilliant learning landscape we must develop character and functional skills alongside academic and technical excellence.
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it." Unknown
