CUTLERS' 'MADE IN SHEFFIELD' AMBASSADORS VISIT SHEFFIELD HALLAM UNIVERSITY

I was at Sheffield Hallam University yesterday with some of our Year 9 engineering ambassadors.

These students from Bradfield, Firth Park, Stockbridge and Westfield were being introduced to the range of courses and opportunities at Sheffield Hallam and worked with a fantastic group of the university's ambassadors. They had brief sessions looking at activities in biological science, materials engineering and forensic science and a tour of the science facilities. The university offers engineering courses in aerospace, automotive, computer-aided design, design technology, electrical and electronics, energy, forensics, food, manufacturing, mechanical, product design and sport technology. On the forensic science courses students learn how to use chemical and biological science to provide important evidence to help solve crimes, in modern well-equipped labs. Then gain valuable professional experience, by applying for a placement with one of our national or multinational partners including forensic science providers, equipment manufacturers and multinational pharmaceutical companies. On the biology courses students learn how to apply biological principles to real world situations and develop critical thinking skills that are highly valued by employers. They learn alongside researchers who help ensure the course content and lab skills follow the latest biological developments.
