Striving for excellence and building world class provision is important

and requires us all to think team.

We all need a relentless and uncompromising focus on excellence and we can't wait for politicians, the DfE or OFSTED to change our world, we have take control and lead and shape the way. I am told that there are 5000000+ educators on twitter and we need to understand the power of our collective capacity and voice. We must focus on school2school learning and build on the real excellence in schools.  What can’t we do together as a community that adds 500,000+ years of experience every year. Those of us who believe in equity, opportunity and fairness must stand up and stand together. We don't have to put up with a culture of fear, with command and control, with this obsession with how great things were in the past. We must develop a collaborative and cooperative approach that trusts and empowers teachers and where we share, network and learn together.
It’s not new by the way. Is there anyone out there from York? In 2006 when the new unitary authority was established we set up ‘Schools Learning Together’ funded by The Gatsby Charitable Foundation. People said we were too small and couldn’t release the magic, but look at York now!
