We also had the opportunity to meet Martyn Oliver, Chief Executive Designate of the Outwood Grange Academy Trust, to bring him up to date with what we are doing because the Outwood Academy City case study is impressive... improved attendance, improved behaviour and improved academic outcomes for the remaining nine students we carefully interviewed and selected. Demi has done a great job with the school element of 'Made in Sheffield' and as a result they have, in both Anne Wilson MBE, Managing Director of Numill Engineering, and Marie Cooper, Financial Director at PEGL, some passionate and hugely supportive engineering business leaders who are really impressed with their students and what the academy is doing. Everyone agrees that the work the Outwood students put in to both the Enterprise Challenge and the Innovation Challenge has been wonderful to see.
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it." Unknown

THE CUTLERS' 'MADE IN SHEFFIELD' SCHEME GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH AT OUTWOOD ACADEMY CITY!
Mike Garnock-Jones from Sheffield City Council and I visited Outwood Academy City yesterday. It was really good to be able to catch up with Richard Brooke, the Academy Principal, and Demi Cardwell, who manages the programme at the academy, and see what we have achieved so far in terms of what we agreed when the academy joined the Cutlers' 'Made in Sheffield' scheme.
