Kelly Drury, Training & Professional Development Manager at Barnsley Healthcare Federation, and I visited The Dearne ALC today. We were there to launch the 'Better Learners, Better Workers: Made in Barnsley' programme to another fantastic group of young people.
Kelly and I talked to all the Year 8 students and left them with these three key messages about being 'Better Learners and Better Workers: Made in Barnsley'…
- Character, skills and experience matter most in the world of work
- Healthcare, Engineering and Construction are three areas where there are great jobs and fantastic opportunities
- Persistence, determination and hard work are the keys to success in anything you do.
We are going back next week to work with a smaller group in each school to recruit our first Cutlers' 'Made in Barnsley' ambassadors... watch this space!!
