I was at Horizon Community College again last night to attend a session organised by Paul Bibby and Kelly Drury from the Barnsley Healthcare Federation. The session was for employers to let them know about ways they could help and support the 'Better Learners, Better Workers: Made in Barnsley' programme.
It was deeply encouraging to hear Paul and Kelly talk about their hopes for the programme. They have such a strong commitment to this programme and we are certainly working with some great schools and teachers. We also had the enthusiastic and passionate support of John Hayward, Chief Executive of Pressure Technologies who talked about his story as a Barnsley lad and what he hoped the programme would offer to young people in Barnsley. Exciting times... watch this space!
