Working with another group of young people in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield this week reaffirmed my belief in people; their energy, passion, enthusiasm and commitment. It also made me realise how destructive the current accountability system is and the desperate need to develop learning leadership, beautiful systems and intelligent accountability as the drivers for change across the country.
We must get back to building communities where learning matters: communities like the fantastic Cutlers' 'Better Learners, Better Workers' group of schools, academies and colleges where colleagues test, adapt and learn, share ideas, focus on what works and together solve problems and find solutions.
We must recognise and celebrate the fact that every school has something to share; some bits of magic and work together to create a library of brilliant moments of magic to celebrate the best of what we do and to start a process where we make that commonplace.
