"We all carry within us:
supreme strength,
the fullness of wisdom,
unquenchable joy.
It can never be thwarted,
and cannot be destroyed."
Huston Smith

Carol Dweck's 'Mindset'

In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They also believe that talent alone creates success—without effort.
They’re wrong!

In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. Our brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Virtually all great people have had these qualities. Read Carol Dweck's 'Mindset' and you’ll understand!

Remember!

"In the long run,
the pessimist may be proved to be right,
but the optimist has a better time on the trip."
Daniel Reardon

Change your life!

"You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine."
John Maxwell

Trust Me!

Last year the Institute of Leadership and Management in partnership with Management Today magazine commissioned a report to assess the state of trust in organisations...

This really interesting piece of research focused on six dimensions by which the trustworthiness of leaders and managers is measured: ability, understanding, fairness, openness, integrity and consistency.

Crack well-being to improve outcomes!

“Improved psychological well being (PWB) leads to a more productive and successful workplace. The case has been proven in academic studies over the last ten years.” Those were the words of Ivan Robertson, giving a seminar on well-being at the LSE this week.

The three most important questions in education?

The three most important questions in education are: 1. How do we make every child into a great learner? 2. How do we make every school into a great centre of learning? 3. How do we make every teacher into a great coach, mentor and instructor?

Take Risks!

If you lose, you will be wise.

The only thing that really matters!

Are we doing all we can to ensure that all the resources we have available to us are deployed and targeted on the things that create the most value and make the most difference?
