Five Things I Learned!

We face new and ever growing challenges as we reorganise, downsize, and ‘cut to the bone’ the systems that underpin school effectiveness and achievement. The question is how do we lead in this perfect storm?”
Here are five things I learned over the last incredible fifteen years to help keep you on track.
  • Integrity. Be honest, open and consistent in your actions, whether it is with management, your team, or your family.
  • Knowledge. Gain the knowledge to master the changes and challenges you and your team are facing and achieve your goals.
  • Decisiveness. Make decisions based on experience, make them quickly and don't be afraid to adapt the decision if needed.
  • Vision. Consistently communicate your vision and help your team feel they are making a difference and achieving their goals.
  • Unselfishness. Be unselfish in words and action and give praise to others and in public. Be unselfish and take the time to listen to your team and their concerns.
