I spent Friday evening with an amazing group of young
people at the Cutlers Hall.
David Grey, the current Master Cutler had organised the dinner to thank our Gold Ambassadors for their commitment to the programme and to continue to develop the relationship between the Cutlers Company and this simply wonderful group of young people. David had also invited a range of people to meet these young people and the group included Craig McKay the next Master Cutler, Doug Liversidge, who chairs the Cutlers Education Committee, George Kilburn, Chief Executive of the Cutlers Company, Marie Cooper from PEGL, Sarah Ward from Straaltechniek UK and Ian Nicholls from Sheffield Forgemasters, who are three of our engineering champions, and Angela Smith MP for Penistone & Stocksbridge. Our Gold Ambassadors attending the dinner were Hailah, Sasha, Elliott, Amy-Jo, Mbachi, Sheridan, Rachel, Robert, Riley, Manar and Emily and it was wonderful to spend the evening with this impressive and diverse group of young people who provide us with such an encouraging picture of the future of the City of Sheffield. It was encouraging that Angela Smith is now going to organise a trip for the group to the Houses of Parliament where they can continue to spread the word about the Cutlers 'Made in Sheffield' programme.
