OUTWARD CITY ACADEMY JOIN 'MADE IN SHEFFIELD'!

I was at Outwood City Academy yesterday with my colleague Mike Garnock-Jones. We were there to see Richard Brooke, the academy principal, and his senior team to discuss how the academy might join the 'Made in Sheffield' scheme.

Richard and his team were celebrating their best ever GCSE results with 68% of their students achieved 5 A* – C including English and Maths. It was great to meet these colleagues whose energy, enthusiasm and commitment have clearly made such a difference already and be able to talk about the scheme and listen to their ideas about how they might work with us this year. We agreed that a group of their students will join the engineering programme where I am sure they will do great things, supported by some brilliant colleagues. An exciting year ahead!
