It has been a great weekend with the snow descending on Saturday night and everyone waking to to a blanket of snow on Sunday morning. The world looks so different painted white and as I look out from my room I can see a fantastic family of snow people built on the lawn next door.
It must be particularly strange to wake up this week and find that you are an inadequate headteacher on the basis of your 'satisfactory' OFSTED inspection outcome, but perhaps encouraging to know that you are not alone with around 5000 schools identified as a cause for concern... that's about 20% of the schools in the country! We have been facing an intense campaign to run down, demoralise and destabilise the maintained schools across the country. Interesting approach to leadership where standards, behavior, curriculum and now leadership have all been undermined in the media and criticised by ministers and civil servants. Who will want to work in a challenging school?
