INCREDIBLE YOUNG PEOPLE!

I was at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre again today meeting with the second group of young people, from the four schools involved in the Cutlers' "Made in Sheffield" Project, for the first day of their Cutlers' "Made in Sheffield" Ambassadors Programme.

The programme aims to develop these things through a basic can, do, review cycle:
  • 'character skills': responsibility, adaptability, resilience, determination and confidence;
  • 'core skills': communication, literacy, numeracy, creativity and learning to learn;
  • experience of the world of work; and
  • academic and technical excellence.

It was great to meet the second group of young people selected to be part of the Cutlers' "Made in Sheffield"Ambassadors Programme. They were boys and girls from Bradfield School, Stocksbridge High School, Yewlands Technology College and Firth Park Community College and they were another impressive group of potential scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs.
