I was over in Sheffield this week and spent some time with three employers who were very clear about the skills, knowledge and understanding they wanted young people arriving in the work place to have.
The critical importance of basic
skills came through from everyone we met alongside the ability for young
people to express themselves verbally and in writing, to be
open-minded, enthusiastic and to recognise the importance of hard work
as the key to success rather than winning XFactor or the Lottery!
That and them acting on the feedback. Feedback alone will not change things, making a decision to respond to that feedback is the thing that will lead to improvement.
