Leeds Art Gallery

I visited Leeds Art Gallery this morning...

It was a wonderful opportunity to walk around the Art Gallery
with Amanda Phillips, the education officer, whose passion, energy and enthusiasm was energising alongside her knowledge and understanding of some wonderful art works like these.

It was also encouraging to talk to Sue Davies, Head of Learning and Audience Development, about the opportunities to encourage schools to use this brilliant learning place. It was also great to see children and colleagues from Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School in Cookridge and Christchurch CE Primary School in Upper Armley working in the gallery. This is another amazing and free resource at the heart of the city with its great spaces, wonderful art works, the awe inspiring Tiled Hall Cafe and a brilliant learning space for schools and families visiting the gallery.

I wonder why more schools aren't using it to stimulate their children to talk, write, paint, draw, create and be inspired.
