The Courtauld Gallery!

I went to another one of my favourite places today in London. The Courtauld Gallery is one of the finest small art museums in the world and is best known for its outstanding Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. These are my personal favourites...

Sadly some of the rooms were closed because they are renovating the rooms on the first floor of the Gallery and preparing a fresh display of the collection. However, the majority of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings were on display, including Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère, Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear, Gauguin’s Nevermore, Renoir’s La Loge and Degas’ Two Dancers. The new interpretation of this world-famous collection will be unveiled in the refurbished rooms on 4 June 2011. If you haven't been and you get the chance, go!
