Character, Self-discipline and Grit!

Over the last thirty five years I have learnt the hard way that knowledge rarely changes people's behaviour.
Despite the convincing evidence so many people won't stop smoking, won't lose weight, won't exercise, won't drive slower, won't put down their phones when they are driving. There are so many things that research and experience tells us we should do, but sadly we don't change our behavior. Having read so many books and so much research I am now convinced that the answer lies in developing character, self-discipline and grit. Developing personal characteristics like hard work, persistence, perseverance, determination, teamwork leads to school and career success. So we must develop a curriculum framework where we coach, nurture and place these things at the heart of everything we are doing with our children and young people.
