MEETING WITH EDGE FOUNDATION!

I had great meeting this morning with Olly Newton, Director of Policy and Research, at the Edge Foundation and my colleague Rob Walker from Sheffield City Council.

It was an opportunity to talk about the 'Better Learners, Better Workers' (BLBW) programme and the work we are doing in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield on skills, careers and employability.  Olly told us about the Nashville 'Career Academy' and the pilot work Edge are doing with Newcastle and Nottingham! As always we are happy to share any of our materials and ideas and we agreed that it would be good to work with a group of like minded colleagues to explore connecting employability programmes at the strategic level while retaining their unique local characteristics and focus. It would also be good to see where the skills agenda is going and share and learn from what others are doing. We would welcome being put in touch with with any organisations or colleagues who might be interested in supporting/funding the further development of BLBW.
