BRILLIANT LEARNING PLACES: Hartsholme Academy!

I was delighted to visit Hartsholme Academy in Lincoln today to meet Carl Jarvis, the head teacher, Sara Pearson, who is a curriculum leader at the academy, and some of their colleagues.
Hartsholme Academy is situated on an inner city council estate around a mile south of the cathedral city of Lincoln. In November 2007,  Hartsholme was placed in Special Measures by Ofsted where the school then undertook a radical turn around. Incredibly,  in the Summer of 2011 Hartsholme was graded “Outstanding” by OFSTED.

Hartsholme Academy is a simply incredible place having ‘taken up the pursuit of excellence!’
The ethos of the school is built around three words; respect, empowerment and belief and they are based in a wonderful state-of–the-art school building which has a radio station, interactive floor, interactive LCD screens in each class and iMacs and iPads so children can access their learning outside the classroom.

It was a real privilege to be able to visit Hartsholme Academy, which is an incredible place, with a brilliant team achieving outstanding results and really “releasing the magic”!
