We need to develop a simple, coherent, value for money approach which delivers that entitlement, building on the evidence and research about what works and successful regional initiatives like The Big Challenge, Barnsley’s ‘I Can!’, Doncaster’s ‘Skills Academy’, Rotherham’s ‘RU Ready’ and the Cutlers' 'Made in Sheffield' programme.

EXPERIENCE OF THE WORLD OF WORK MATTERS!
Young people are struggling to secure first-hand experiences of the world of work and too many have no real awareness or knowledge of the world of work, career pathways or future job prospects. Research, evidence and some innovative projects, in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, show that experiences of the world of work can be a major catalyst for change among young people, particularly those who are underachieving, disadvantaged and harder to reach.
