THERE IS SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT BARNSLEY!

Lots to do but I was at Horizon Community College again this morning with the steering group who are working together to shape and steer the 'Better Learners, Better Workers: Made in Barnsley' programme. The programme is being led by Kelly Drury, Training & Professional Development Manager at Barnsley Healthcare Federation, who is being supported by Paul Bibby.
Nick Bowen, the College Principal, Christine Robinson, headteacher at The Dearne ALC, and Simon Barber, headteacher at Holy Trinity Catholic and Church of England School are leading the three schools working on this pilot scheme. It's great to have three incredibly positive headteachers and great employers in Kelly and Paul working on this pilot. We've now delivered assemblies and workshops in all the schools and applications are coming in from young people enthused by the opportunity to be part of this exciting project. We are looking forward to the interviews and recruiting our first cohort of Cutlers' 'Made in Barnsley' Ambassadors. Exciting times... watch this space!
