GREAT SCHOOLS: Horsforth School!

With so many brilliant primary schools on my list of outstanding learning places I mustn't forget the great secondary schools I have worked with over the last ten years, like Horforth School...

Steve Jex is headteacher at Horsforth School and under Steve's intelligent and determined leadership, over the last ten years, the school has developed as one of the most successful secondary schools in Leeds. It has been a privilege to work with Steve,  Roland Meredith, the Chair of Governors, and other colleagues whose work on science and ICT has made Horsforth School a real beacon of excellence. It was great last term to attend their prize giving evening and recognise and celebrate the achievements of some talented young people who took their GCSEs and A-Levels last Summer. It was a real privilege to be asked by Steve to present the certificates and prizes at this important event in the life of one of the best schools in Leeds. As someone who is passionate about science, physics and maths teaching and learning it is deeply encouraging to see what Steve and his team are doing at Horsforth Schools and to see that they are achieving some extraordinary outcomes!
