How are you feeling!

Unsurprisingly perhaps, YouGov research suggests that there has been a downturn in happiness since last year...

Their questions ask people how positively or negatively they feel about specific aspects of their lives. The picture looks slightly less rosy compared with last year, with a significant downturn across several areas...

  • Only 17% of us feel positive about our influence on the world around us, compared to 41% last year;
  • Only 39% of us feel positive about our prospects for the future, compared to 52% last year;
  • Sadly only 39% of us feel positive about our ability to control our overall situation, compared to 46% last year.
I am more and more convinced that the things we all need to do to be happier:

  • exercise regularly;
  • make your brain work;
  • make your spirit work;
  • do a good turn every day;
  • do something great with a friend;
  • give yourself a treat every now and then;
  • celebrate and congratulate yourself on the things you do well.
Be happy!
Chris
