Shakespeare Schools Festival!

A colleague sent me some information about the Shakespeare Schools Festival, which is a brilliant initiative...

The Shakespeare Schools Festival is apparently the largest youth drama festival in the UK and since 2000, 4,248 schools have become Shakespeare Schools. For the last ten years the Shakespeare Schools Festival has worked with teachers to challenge the myth that studying Shakespeare is difficult, dry or dull through a combination of teacher training, workshops and student performance in a local professional theatre. In the process they have helped over 90,000 young people to appreciate Shakespeare through a creative, hands-on approach. Sadly, it is targeted at 11 - 18 year old students but why not surprise Michael Gove and make your school a Shakespeare School! You can visit their website at www.ssf.uk.com/
