'BETTER LEARNERS, BETTER WORKERS: MADE IN BARNSLEY'

Kelly Drury, Training & Professional Development Manager at Barnsley Healthcare Federation, and I visited Holy Trinity Catholic and Church of England School and Horizon Community College today. We were there to launch the 'Better Learners, Better Workers: Made in Barnsley' programme to two fantastic groups of young people.

Kelly and I talked to all the Year 8 students in both these schools and left them with these three key messages about being 'Better Learners and Better Workers: Made in Barnsley'…
  1. Character, skills and experience matter most in the world of work
  2. Healthcare, Engineering and Construction are three areas where there are great jobs and fantastic opportunities
  3. Persistence, determination and hard work are the keys to success in anything you do.
