BETTER LEARNERS, BETTER WORKERS: MADE IN BARNSLEY!

I was at The Dearne ALC again this morning with the steering group for the 'Better Learners, Better Workers: Made in Barnsley' programme which is rapidly growing...
Christine Robinson, headteacher at The Dearne ALC, and her colleagues were joined by colleagues from Horizon Community College and Holy Trinity Catholic and Church of England School who are the there original schools on the Barnsley pilot. It was also great to see Suzie Day from Outwood Academy Carlton, who along with Outwood Academy Shafton, are now working with us on this growing programme. We also had a colleagues from Penistone Grammar School who was on a fact finding mission and hopes to join us. Some brilliant employers from Naylors, Pressure Technologies, and Henry Boot Construction along with colleagues from Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and the Territorial Army are supporting the programme which is being led by Kelly Drury from the Barnsley Healthcare Federation. We are going to need  bigger room for our next meeting!

Great to have so many positive and supportive school based colleagues working with some  great employers. Also   encouraging to see it is being supported so positively by Helen Valentine from Barnsley MBC. Exciting times... watch this space!
