Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world' and I have spent the last fifteen years of my career wrestling with the challenges facing our education system against a background of chronic underachievement, systemic failure and poor leadership. And as always, to keep me sane when the going gets tough, I visit colleagues doing the things atet matter and read to keep me sane. I have been re-reading the McKinsey reports which provide us with the keys to success if people could be bothered to read them, learn from them and act upon the messages they contain.
