I attended the Sheffield 'Learning for Life' group this afternoon at Peaks College, which is part of The Sheffield College.
I talked about the Cutlers 'Made in Sheffield' initiative and it was great to listen to James Smythe, Vice Principal, talk about the College offer and to listen to Gary Drabble, who co-ordinates STEM provision for Sheffield and Rotherham, talking about the work that is going on in the engineering sector. What strikes me every time I visit Sheffield is the range and scope of the outstanding work going on in schools, colleges, universities and businesses. The challenge as always is connecting it all together, to create a world class offer for young people in the city, and communication, so that everyone knows how much extraordinary work is happening and how they can learn from it.
