Sheffield's Online College!

I spent the day in Sheffield meeting colleagues to further share and develop the Cutlers 'Made in Sheffield' Project! I had a great meeting with Julie Hooper who manages the on-line college at Sheffield City College.

The College has a wonderful on-line college which aims to fit learning around life. We are trying to develop an on-line resource area for the project so that we can develop the 'flipped classroom' concept that will enable teachers to focus their time, energy and effort on the strategies that we know work best; feedback, coaching and learn to learn strategies. Julie and the team have already developed a GCSE English on-line resource and are working on a GCSE Maths on-line resource. I am also hoping that we can create a GCSE Science on-line resource as part of the project.  Julie also shared the really excellent Workskills materials with me which we hope we could refine and develop to support the Cutlers 'Made in Sheffield' Skills Passport. Brilliant stuff!
