LONGLEY PARK SIXTH FORM COLLEGE!

I visited Longley Park Sixth Form College in North Sheffield again this morning with my colleague Mike Garnock-Jones.

MIke and I were there to see Mo Nesbit, the college principal, to talk to her about the 'Made in Sheffield' programme we are working on with Sheffield secondary schools and colleges, The Cutlers Company, Sheffield City Council and a range of employers.  The college is already involved in the initiative through the retail sector strand and the work we are planning with the Sheffield Children's Hospital. They have two groups of Post -16 students working with us and working with The Source, Marks and Spencer and Primark and The Sheffield Children's Hospital

We are co-creating a curriculum offer and a coherent set of pathways through school and college underpinned by an agreed set of skills/competencies linked to the Cutlers' Skills Passport. It was great to have the opportunity to share the work we are doing with Mo and to talk about how this initiative could help to build world class outcomes for young people in Sheffield.
